OUTREACH
PROGRAMS FOR SELF-HELF-GROUP (SHG) women, EDUCATED UNEMPLOYED YOUTH (EUY) &
FARMERS
FIC facilities were partially used
for conducting weekend (every Saturday) outreach workshop for SHG women from 2
districts (purba & paschim
Medinipore), EUY and farmers. The financial support
for recurring expenses for such workshops were available from PRISM project of
DSIR. During 2017-2020 (prior to lock down in March 2020) 48 such workshops
were conducted that immensely inspired the participants towards rural startups. A few are already in market and improved their
earnings. Three workshops were dedicated for SHG women for value addition of
handloom using natural fibres (banana, pineapple etc) and carbon nano
materials.
